Round five of the Drennan Coors Masters on the River Trent at Burton saw the Municipal section supply three of the day’s top three weights, led by Don Cade (Mill Tackle) with 14lb 4oz of worm-tempted perch plus a bonus bream of nearly 8lb from peg 10.

Runner-up with 11lb 9oz four pegs downstream was Harvey Clapham (Coors) who alternated waggler and stick float with bronze maggots.

Winner’s Top Tip: Never ignore a big fish worm line just past the near bank weed beds if you’re struggling on the float!
