An opportunistic glimpse of bream rolling at dusk lead to the capture of this impressive 17lb 4oz PB bream for Ben Emptage from the Girton Fishing Complex, Lincolnshire.

“The fish is 4lb larger than any bream I had caught before, but I didn’t realise quite how big it was until I went to lift the net out. When it went into the net I thought, ‘that’s a proper one’, and when I lifted it out, I realised that I’d caught something pretty special” he told us.
“I’ve seen and caught a number of large bream but this one eclipsed anything I’d ever seen on the bank.” Ben added.
