The Angling Times’ very special Christmas issue contains the eagerly anticipated National Angling Awards. Nearly 30,000 anglers have cast their votes and helped Drennan run away with a host of honours!
The Best Pole Over £1,000 went to the Acolyte Carp. This pole has already won plaudits with the media this year which we feel reflects the attention to detail that has gone into this product. The pole is available in three lengths – 13.0, 14.5 and 16.0 metres – each with a comprehensive spares package that includes a total of six kits, a cupping kit, mini extensions and a host of added extras – not forgetting our very special Side Pull System and Roller Cone technology. It truly is a pole designed for today’s modern angler.
We were not too surprised to see our highly regarded Acolyte rods win a prize, but even we were amazed to win both the Best AND Runner-Up prizes for Best Traditional Float Rod. The Acolyte Plus 13ft came out on top with the featherweight Acolyte 15ft Ultra taking a well-deserved runners-up position!
As if that wasn’t already enough, the Acolyte Carp Waggler also won the Best Pellet Waggler award. This two-piece model comes in both 11ft and 12ft lengths and makes catching carp and F1s an absolute pleasure.
Drennan Luggage also picked up the Best Luggage award with the Angling Times kindly stating, “Tasteful, practical and well made – that’s Drennan luggage.”
Alan Scotthorne’s world-class input has also been well received as his AS3 and AS4 pole floats combined to win the Best Pole Float category. Meanwhile, the Best Innovation award went to our Crystal Dibber. This new concept in pole float technology has taken a great deal of time to develop and perfect, but the effort is clear to see – if you pardon the pun!
Thanks to everyone that took the time to vote. For the complete lowdown on the National Angling Awards, pick up the bumper Christmas issue of the Angling Times, out now!
