We’re still receiving some very nice Tench catch reports – including this superb 8lb 11oz estate lake example from Midlands all-rounder Ashley Burton. As you can see in the picture, another dull dreary day did not stop Ashley taking a nine fish haul, on just his 3rd visit to the venue, with the biggest Tench being the ‘icing on the cake’ as it set a new personal best!
Ashley has found that the typically shallow estate lake margins mean it has been more productive to fish at around 60 yards range, with feeder tactics. Ashley has fine tuned his rigs & presentation based around a helicopter arrangement on ESP Anchor Rig Tubing, with a quick release clip to a Drennan Double Strength 12lb mono hooklink and a size 12 Specimen microbarbed hook. Ashley stuffed the Cage Feeder with a Teme Severn groundbait and used Chocolate Orange flavoured maggots as hookbait!
