After spending the last few winters on the cold, muddy banks of the Trent, Sheffield angler Ash Morton finally landed his dream zander with this 16lb 1oz specimen.
It continues the river’s fine run of form for the species, with Ash’s fish falling to a roach deadbait. He admits that zander have been something of a ‘bogey species’, and had a battle to beat his 11lb PB from a few season’s back.
However, this fish is just reward for his efforts, and Ash is delighted to finally be a member of the ‘sixteen’ club.
Well done Ash!
