Area managers from across the UK came to Oxford earlier this week to inspect the latest collection of new products from Drennan.

As well as new items of luggage and keepnets, Peter Drennan proudly showed the new 15ft Acolyte Ultra to the team. At just 165g or 5¾ oz, this superb rod is lighter and better balanced than many 13ft models and a joy to fish all day.

A major new development is the Crystal Dibber pole floats. Peter explained to the team that a special machine had to be designed and purpose built allowing Drennan to blow mould the miniature bodies. These bodies are super buoyant and much tougher than foam or balsa. They feature a glass stem and secure stainless wire eye. Most importantly, they are virtually invisible in the water compared to a solid coloured float.

Available in 0.2g, 0.3g and 0.4g, Crystal Dibbers are a great example of the micro engineering Drennan does best and the next step in pole float evolution.

The meeting ended promptly after a quick sandwich lunch as Peter Drennan, Ian Watkins and Andrew Bartle had an urgent appointment with some Roach!
