“The fish fought hard for the willows either side of him”
Anthony Stockdale also got amongst the big Yorkshire chub recently, landing this 7lb 4oz specimen from the River Swale in the north of the county.
After catching a few four-pounders, he dropped into a noted chub swim at dusk. After a quick two-pounder, he received a few shy twitched on the fine quiver tip, and 30-minutes later he had a positive pull-round and connected with a powerful fish that fought hard for the willows either side of him.
When he finally lifted the net, Anthony was astonished by the size of the fish. It’s his new PB and fell to a bread flake hookbait fished below a small cage feeder filled with liquidised bread.
Well done Anthony!
