Drennan’s Stewart Moss has enjoyed a purple patch this Autumn – and was delighted to bag another terrific Barbel from a midlands river, which weighed in at 15lb 14oz!

“This was without doubt the best conditioned big barbel I’ve ever seen. It was incredibly muscular and stocky, with perfect fins and scales etc. Its build was literally like Mike Tyson’s neck all the way down. It put up a truly incredible battle – including a searing, rod-flattening long run downstream against a tight clutch as soon as I struck!” explained Stewart.

Tackle consisted of the usual 1.75lb Drennan Martin Bowler rod, Shimano 4010 fighting drag reel, and 15lb ESP Syncro mainline through to an ESP Two Tone hooklink and a Kamasan Barbel Maxx hook with a Meteor Boilie.
