One of the biggest roach ever landed in Yorkshire has just been reported, after Andy Oxley slipped the net under this 3lb 12oz leviathan.
The Rotherham angler had the fish from a stillwater with it falling to helicopter feeder tactics fished with a 16-inch hooklink – rather than the short, three-inch one, that many anglers favour.
It fell to a double fluro maggot hookbait presented over a mixture of maggots, hemp, and stewed wheat, glugged in sweet-smelling flavours. On the same session, Andy added a fish of 2lb 11oz, continuing what’s been a superb run for him with roach this season, having already landed a fish of 2lb 15oz 8dr from a different venue.
Well done Andy!
