Southern Specialist Andy Loble had recently decided he needs to properly target big Perch, and achieved immediate success with several fish over 3lb!
Andy memorably bagged a huge carp recently on his Perch gear, but has also gone on to take a number of quality Perch topped by fish of 3lb 6oz and 3lb 1oz.
He used a simple running leger rig consisting of 6lb Ultima Power Steel line to a 4.4lb Power Match hooklink and a size 7 Drennan Super Specialist Barbel hook – all anchored with a 1oz lead stopped by a Swivel Stop Bead. A King Prawn hookbait soaked in CC Moore’s Shrimp extract fooled the bigger fish and seemed less attractive to the Carp! This was fished over a delicious Spombed area baited with chopped Lobworms, Prawns, red maggots, the worm soil and some brown crumb, all mixed in with CC Moore’s Worm Extract & more of the Shrimp Extract!
With this attention to detail its surely only a matter of time before Andy hits his 4lb Perch target!
