Sussex specimen angler Andy Loble has sent us these fabulous Tench photos – having caught a number of 7lb plus fish this earlier this month.

Fishing a series of short evening and morning sessions Andy has been scoring with a Drennan Bolt Rig In-line maggot feeder fished over a Spombed area of Hinders Bloodworm Pellet, Little Gemz Pellets, Krill and Shrimp Meal, and Bloodworm Glug along with a number of CC Moore baits and oils. He also introduced plenty of Turmeric to the maggots and plenty of Hempseed and Corn – a real feast!

Greys 12ft 1.75lb rods and Okuma free spool reels were used to cast the feeders on 2ft Leadcore Leaders, with a size 10 Barbel hook and a piece of popped up fake corn hair-rigged and tipped with 3 maggots. Andy reports at times frantic action, with it difficult to keep 2 rods in the water! So far five fish over 7lb have graced the landing net, with Andy hopeful of a really large specimen – “I am extremely excited about fishing new waters and hope to continue if not improve on my first Tench session this year!”
