Andy Loble from Sussex has kindly sent us a photo of this magnificent Mirror Carp – hooked whilst Perch fishing!

Experienced all-rounder Andy, an Environmental & Fisheries Officer, was using a 13ft Float rod and Mitchell 300 reel to fish delicately for bite-shy Perch. Using 3lb Ultima Power Steel line straight through to a small pole float and a size 18 Drennan Carbon Specimen hook – to land such a large carp was no mean feat of skill!

“I hooked into more than I bargained for with this stunning 26lb 4oz Carp” explained Andy. “Only a short 35 minute battle entailed, but proved Power Steel can handle some pretty awesome fish when using balanced kit!” explained Andy.
