Midlands-based Andy Holden has banked what is possibly the UK’s best ever zander brace, after landing this 17lb 10oz fish alongside one of 14lb 11oz.
Targeting the River Severn below Upton, Andy caught them both on small roach dead baits.
He told us: “The fish gave uncharacteristic screaming runs, and I had the take from the fourteen-pounder whilst the 17 was in the net! I couldn’t believe it, and after doing a lot of zander fishing over the years, I know this catch will be hard to top!”
