The stretch he’s fishing is a popular one, and Alfie was having little success in the more pressured swims. He kept his eye on an area that’s more out of the way and spent a few days trickling pellets into a swim where there’s a slack and big drop off just a few rod lengths out. When it came to fishing the area, he presented a trimmed down garlic boilie and, as the sun set, he saw a good fish roll over his spot. It wasn’t long before his centrepin screamed into life, with the 8lb chub his reward.
