Having seen that his local Dorset Stour was starting to drop after floods, Alfie Lane had a feeling the fish would be on the feed and was proven right with this 7lb 15oz chub.

He targeted some slack water by overhanging trees and soon after making his first cast had an indication that a fish was in the swim. After missing a bite, he recast, and soon after his centrepin went into meltdown as he connected with a heavy fish that held out in the flow. As it neared the net he saw fry dashing for cover, and knew he was playing something special. A small garlic boilie was his successful hookbait, fished alongside a PVA bag filled with mixed pellets.
Well done Alfie!
