When it comes to big roach, there aren’t many anglers with a better record than Alan Storey. The Dorset angler has just landed yet another three-pounder, this time a fish of 3lb 3oz from a southern chalk stream.
Targeting the edge of a crease, Alan fished a small cage feeder which he plugged with hemp and caster and fed two balls of the same feed before starting. After being pestered by small chub and dace on maggot hookbaits, he switched to double caster but lost a good roach shortly after. He thought his chance was up, but 20 minutes later he had an incredibly delicate bite on his 2oz glass quivertip and connected with what turned out to be a fish of 3lb 3oz.
Well done Alan!
