Adrian Eves 17lb 2oz Barbel

Adrian Eves had planned one last bream session of the year, but heavy rains resulted in his target lake flooding. Undecided on what to do, whilst walking the dog he was hit with a strong feeling to fish a particular swim on the Hampshire Avon.
He was soon on his way to the river and found his target swim free, with the river coloured but dropping. Fishing boilies alongside small PVA bags filled fish half-a-dozen matching freebies, he soon landed a chub of 6lb 14oz. Three hours later a barbel of 14lb 7oz came to the net, which was his PB for the Avon at the time. But that was soon blown out of the water, when he landed this stunning 17lb 1oz barbel. The next day he fished the same spot again and was rewarded a chub of 6lb 6oz as well as a 15lb 7oz barbel. A short semi-stiff hooklink, size 8 wide gape hook, and a 4oz inline lead was Adrian’s successful set-up.

Well done Adrian!
