Whilst targeting a tricky stretch of the River Thames, Adam Perna managed this excellent barbel of 17lb 5oz.
Fishing just as the river levels dropped, Adan targeted a crease line with a 15mm paste-wrapped boilie. Due to crayfish activity, he decided to recast every hour, adding a PVA bag of glugged pellets and boilies.
Three hours into the session the bite came, and Adam hooked a fish that fought powerfully, working its way in and out of the main flow. Five minutes later, he slipped the superbly-conditioned specimen into the net – a fish that beats his previous PB by 12oz.
Well done Adam!
