After a large amount of rain this winter, conditions hadn’t been ideal for grayling, but tackle shop owner Adam Fisher made the most of the recent cold snap, landing this 3lb 2oz beauty.
The Angling Dreams boss was fishing a river in mid-Wales, and after navigating treacherous roads, arrived at a ‘winter wonderland’ scene, with snow-capped trees and frosted banks. Trotting maggots, he and his good mate Rich landed three fish over the two-pound mark in a quiet run before he hooked an acrobatic fish that put up an immense battle for fifteen minutes. It turned out to be Adam’s fourth grayling over the three-pound mark, and made the day a trip to remember, despite of freezing rod rings and numb feet.
Well done Adam!
