Introducing the all-new 10ft and 12ft Acolyte Ultra Feeder rods.
We met up with Darren Davies and Dean Barlow at Furzton Lake in Milton Keynes to put our latest additions to the Acolyte family through their paces. Both of these highly respected, international-class anglers have been very actively involved in the development of these rods.
Furzton is a brilliant 70-acre stillwater run by Milton Keynes AA and a great choice to show off the 10ft and 12ft Acolyte Ultras. Both rods excel at registering bites from shy biting species, from wary roach to quality F1s. The forgiving top sections also cushion soft-mouthed species like bream and skimmers and go a long way to help avoid hook pulls.
The blanks are super slim and lightweight but, crucially, they still have the correct amount of backbone to propel a loaded swimfeeder with pin-point accuracy. There is no discernible wobble on the cast and being so slim and light makes them a dream to use.
These qualities have taken a considerable time to perfect. Five times world champion Alan Scotthorne has also been heavily involved in the design process and it was his valuable input that lead to the introduction of our special stand-off rings. The difference this has made to the way the line peels off the reel, and also how it winds back through the rings with far less friction, is quite remarkable.
These two-piece rods can be folded neatly away when not in use. They also come with three super-slim, push-in, carbon quivertips that taper perfectly with the blank. A useful pair of rod end protectors and a Neoprene retaining band also add a nice finishing touch to these quality rods.
The 10ft and the 12ft Acolyte Ultra Feeder rods are highly versatile and designed to cope with lots of different species and venues. This is just the start of our all-new Acolyte Feeder range. We think you’ll be impressed!
