Kent-based all-rounder Ray Pulford recently enjoyed a day’s fishing on a southern stillwater in the hope of catching one of the resident golden orfe. 

Feeding red maggots on a little-and-often basis, just down the marginal shelf, Ray managed to tempt this impressive orfe of 5lb 1oz, a new personal best and his first of the species!

He opted to fish a simple waggler setup using 4lb 4oz Float Fish mainline, a Glow Tip Peacock Waggler and a size 16 Barbless Super Specialist hook.
