Despite difficult wet & windy conditions, where the lake level rose considerably during the stay, Phil managed a number of fine 2lbs plus fish topped by a brace at 2lb 13oz. Phil used a pair of Drennan Series 7 Specialist Avon Quiver 12ft 1.25lb rods for the trip – and using the Avon tops, got a really good balance between being able to cast out to a decent range, and having a soft enough action to both enjoy playing the roach, and not produce disappointing ‘hook pulls’.
