George Papp 34lb 8oz Pike

The Norfolk Broads have been in exceptional form for big pike over recent years, and whilst many of the biggest fish are kept quiet, one angler reported a memorable spell of fishing at the end of the season.

George Papp banked this specimen of 34lb 8oz alongside another of 26lb 9oz, which were the highlights of a week’s fishing. Originating from Hungary, George has spent the last 15 years fishing for pike in the UK, with these fish the culmination of his efforts. Float fished roach deadbaits did the trick, and whilst George has now packed the pike rods away, after ending the campaign on such a high, he’s already looking forward to October.

Well done George!
