Over the last decade it’s been Daniel Woolcott’s goal to catch a three-pound grayling from the Dorset Frome, and on a recent trip, he achieved his goal with this fish of 3lb 1oz.
It beats his previous best from the river by three ounces and was taken from a beat he’d never fished before. Trying the new area certainly paid off for the reigning Drennan Cup champion, with the fish putting up an epic fight after falling to his double red maggot hookbait.
