Wanting to use up some old maggots, he headed to a local river for a morning sessiom where he knew a few specimens reside. Feeding lots of bait and trotting with light tackle, it wasn’t long before he had the fish in frenzy and was regularly catching a mixture of small silverfish. Then he hooked something slightly larger, and when he could see it was clearly a good dace, he didn’t hesitate to slip the net under it.
