Former Olympic decathlete Dean Macey has showed no signs of slowing in his current form, landing this 17lb 2oz bream.
It came a short while after he landed a brace of 16lb 8oz slabs, when he returned to the same venue for a 24-hour session. With the wind pushing down the opposite end of the lake, Dean settled into a swim he knew reasonably well, knowing that, despite his previous results in a different area, that lake’s fish love a new wind. He cast two rods to a clear spot at 15 wraps with 10mm wafter hookbaits over pellets, corn, hemp and natruals.
It wasn’t long before he landed the first bream of the trip – a fish of 14lb 2oz. As he released it, his other rod pulled up tight, with this bream making the fourteen-pounder look small. At 17lb 2oz, it’s Dean’s new PB.
Well done Dean!
