Autumn signals the arrival of predator anglers on Britain’s reservoirs, and we’ve had some huge perch reported, including the first five-pounder of the season.
These huge waters can be an intimidating prospect, but the rewards are certainly there to be had.
Luke Jordan truly made the most of a trip to a Cambridgeshire reservoir, landing fish of 5lb, 4lb 4oz, plus some big pike and zander. His brother also managed a brace of four-pounders!
Luke said “When we set off in the boat, the wind was so strong it felt like we were heading out to sea – there were waves rolling across the water! Using a 9cm shad, I hooked a heavy fish that I initially thought was a pike. However, head shakes made me wonder if it was a perch, and when we landed it, I realised I’d caught a real monster.”
Well done Luke!
