Kev Hewitt’s Upper Thames Roach Catch

Swindon, Wiltshire Ace Kev Hewitt with a terrific 26lb netful of Upper Thames Roach caught float fishing.

The Upper Thames is not an easy venue on which to compile a net of Silverfish, but Kev proved that despite being best known for his amazing big carp catching skills, he’s actually pretty accomplished at catching everything else that swims!

Kev used the lovely Drennan IM9 Finesse 13ft float rod with an FD3000 reel loaded with 4lb Supplex to a 3AA Merge Peacock and a size 18 Silverfish Maggot spade end hook baited with a single bronze maggot. By careful feeding of Hemp and Caster Kev was able to put together a really memorable bag of fish!
