Midlands specimen angler Ashley Burton, from Hinckley, has sent us details and these fab photos from his memorable recent sessions on the River Trent, catching both specimen Barbel and Chub!

In the past few weeks Ash has had Barbel to 13lb 6oz (part of hat-trick of doubles), Chub to 6lb and Bream to 7lb – fishing Bang tidy baits Shellfish-Peach Boilies in conjunction with PVA bags of freebies and crushed baits on Drennan Super Specialist Barbel hooks. The river was carrying extra water so big baits were working well.
