Paul Faint, 8lb 1oz Chub!

“He found a small stretch of his local River Lea that hardly gets fished”

Finding a quiet stretch of river is increasingly hard these days, but Waltham Abbey angler Paul Faint did just that and hit the jackpot with this 8lb 1oz chub.
He found a small stretch of his local River Lea that hardly gets fished due to with limited access and barely enough room for a rod. With hardly any signs of it being fished, he returned later that day with his chub gear for a quick evening session.
After a bite-less few hours, Paul’s tip slowly pulled over and an immense battle was underway.

After a few minutes the fish was over the net cord, and he was left amazed by the size of the fish. At 8lb 1oz, it’s his new PB from the Lea. The big chub fell to bread flake on a size 8 fished below a small cage feeder packed with liquidised feed.
Well done Paul!
