Joe Coleman has certainly put in the miles recently with a 3 hour drive each way in search of some specimen crucians and was rewarded in style with this new personal best 4lb 3oz beauty.
Joe told us “I set off from home at 2am for the 3 hour drive so I could arrive at first light. I was unsure on what to expect as I knew the venue had been fishing poorly. The first day and night was a complete blank until 8am the next morning when a thick band of fog come over the lake. Within minutes I received my first bite which resulted in this lovely 4lb 3oz fish. Over the next few hours I also had crucians of 3lb 8oz and 3lb 13oz, then the mist lifted and the sun got hot and once again the fishing died off for the rest of the day. All fish came on method feeders fished at range with fake caster hookbaits on a hair.”
