Thanks to talented young river angler Ollie Jenkinson, aged 14, from Bedfordshire, for sending us some lovely pictures from his opening river trip of the season on June 16th.
Ollie travelled down to the River Lea and was delighted to catch 8 Barbel to 5lb 8oz by simply free-lining luncheon meat on a size 6 Super Specialist hook.
“I found the hooks stayed very strong and sharp through all of the barbel I caught” remarked Ollie.
Later he switched to trotting tactics, and caught some fine Roach to 12oz plus a bonus Grayling to complete a memorable opening day.
Well done Oliver!
Ollie has been using and been delighted with an FD 4000 feeder reel – click here for full details.
