Arron O’Hara from Dorset has sent us this picture of his new personal best Perch, weighing 3lb 9oz, from a local club water!

Arron baited his swim with chopped Prawns, Worms, Maggots and liquidised worm all mixed with compost, and after a few tactical changes, achieved success float-fishing over the top close-in with a 13ft float rod and centrepin. The float was one of our Insert Crystal Wagglers for maximum sensitivity, combined with a Prawn on a size 8 Super Specialist hook, all fished on Supplex line.

“I lifted into it thinking it was another carp but as it was hammering for the tree rooots etc and came to the surface I knew I had a monster perch! The fight didn’t last long but the runs were frantic and I landed the fish shaking with excitement! The fish weighed 3lb 9oz, beating my PB by over a 1lb! Love perch” Arron told us.
