Reading angler Mark Erdwin with a vividly coloured specimen Perch weighing 4lb 2oz from the River Loddon.

Mark caught the fish during the last week of the river season by Quivertipping a Large Lobworm on a size 7 Drennan Super Specialist Barbel hook. With considerable flow to deal with a 4oz tip was necessary, in conjunction with a small black cage feeder on a running rig employing a large-bore low-resistance run ring filled with a mix of liquidized bread, shrimp and krill powder, maggots, casters and chopped worm.

“She weighed in at a plump 4 lb 2oz and put up a terrific scrap” commented Mark.
