Thanks to young Kavanagh Fletch from Bedfordshire for sending some of his lovely Chub & Perch pictures!
Kavanagh had a go on his local River Ivel just before the river season ended and caught some terrific Chub, topped by a 6lb 2oz specimen! He also added a couple of fine Perch of 2lb 2oz and 2lb for good measure.
Having found the fish tight to cover along the far margin of the river, Kavanagh sprayed maggots to get them interested and then trotted maggot with a Drennan Loafer on 5lb Supplex mainline to a Red Maggot hook to nylon.
“It’s fair to say I was over the moon with the new personal best” Kavanagh told us “the Supplex line is a dream to play fish on”.
