Martin Bowler has sent us this lovely scenic photo – Trotting for Chub on a wintry day on the Bristol Avon recently!
Using a Drennan Floatmaster Combo and Centrepin, Martin selected a big 7AA Crystal Avon, bulk shotted on 3.2lb Floatfish line with maggots on a Super Spade hook.
On a tough, cold bright day Martin knew bites would be at a premium, but as dusk arrived a big Chub finally slipped up – at 5lb 15oz an exceptional fish for the river.
