Norwich Specialist Chris Turnbull with a 3lb 9oz Perch caught at a Sussex commercial pool.

Chris travelled down to Whitevane Fishery near Horsham to fish for the big Perch – a pleasant social (but bitterly cold!) day having been arranged with brother Malcom, Gary Newman of the Anglers Mail and Gardner Consultants Lee Chatfield & Tony King.

On a bitterly cold day Chris caught this lovely fish on a float fished raw king-prawn presented over a bed of sprayed red maggots using a Series 7 Specialist Avon/Quiver 1.25lb rod, 6lb Supplex mainline, 4 swan Loafer float and a size 4 Kamasan Wide Gape hook.

Chris’ brother Malcolm is pictured with a 3lb 7oz example, this was caught on a latex shad presented on a 5g jig-head, using a Drennan Series 7 Spincast 7ft 1.25lb Spinning rod.
