Specimen hunter and current Drennan Cup holder, Jamie Cartwright, spent a day afloat on Pitsford Reservoir and had some brilliant sport with perch and the latest E-Sox Dropshot gear.
Jamie had been told that anything dirty green or brown would catch fish. His findings matched this, with dull lures outperforming the brighter colours. The Earthy Brown Lobworm proved to be the winning lure on the day, with some of the takes coming as soon as the lure hit the bottom. On a few occasions the lure didn’t even make it all the way down, before being taken by a hungry perch! This particular lure also picked out all the best fish of the day including a couple of 2lb fish with a best one scaling 2lb 8oz.
“I tried to give all the lures a go but didn’t quite get through them all, although I did catch on every lure I tried! Obviously, as with everything you develop favourites and from the photos you’ll probably notice the perch had theirs!” explained Jamie.
