Last weekend was a great day for Drennan Bordon, as they claimed the top two honours in the Avon Valley Summer League.
The final round was fished at Gold Valley Lakes in Aldershot on Middle and Syndicate lakes. With only a gentle breeze and strong sunshine, sport was hard in some areas but the noted pegs still threw up a few weights.
The league winner was Drennan Bordon Blue with 249 points, despite being beaten by Shakespeare Team Hansford and team mates Drennan Bordon Green on the day. Despite a blip on the sixth and final round, Drennan Bordon Blue put in a consistent performance over the first five rounds to be crowned Avon Valley Summer League Champions.
Individual winner on the day was Gavin Millis fishing for Tubertini South with 133lb 4oz. Pegged on Syndicate Peg 118 he caught 23 carp on the pellet waggler. Pegged next to the winner on Peg 117 was second-placed Jason Kirk with 88lb 10oz of carp caught on the same method.
