Portsmouth’s Simon Daley with a very rare specimen fish – a 1lb Dace – caught from a southern chalkstream using a Matchpro Ultralight 15ft rod.

Simon used the rod’s extra length to control a stick float and single maggot on a size 20 hook down the stream on 3.2lb line. This tactic caught him around a dozen lovely Dace topped by the 1lb example, which deservedly won him a weekly Drennan Cup award in last week’s Angling Times.
