Thanks to Suffolk specialist Andy Waters for sending us interesting details on some recent night fishing for Pike he’s been doing.
“I have been focusing my attention on pike of late and mostly after dark after watching and being inspired by the recent release of the “Caught In The Act” DVDs – as I’d never really heard of much successful piking being done at night before seeing these. So, as a result of this I have been doing short after work sessions down my local tidal stretches of the River Waveney and have had some pretty consistent results with plenty of low doubles, a few upper doubles and recently a new personal best of 20lb 14oz – which I was over the moon with!
Tactics have been really simple with my main tactic being wobbling dead Smelt and Lamprey taking most of my fish, although the twenty was caught ledgering a half Lamprey. I’ve been using semi-barbed size 6 E-Sox trebles to aid safe and easy unhooking!”
