Huge congratulations to Michael “Bud” Buchwalder who was crowned the 2013 Drennan Knock Out Cup Champion Tuesday evening at Docklow Pools in Herefordshire. 

“I’m ecstatic about being the Drennan Knockout Cup Champion for 2013.  I still can’t quite believe I’ve achieved it. It hasn’t sunk in yet and it might be a few days before it does!”

Following the death of his father, Michael only decided to fish the competition at the last minute after encouragement from his family. Michael flew back into Luton airport at 4am on the very morning of the first round of the Drennan Knockout Cup, drove to his house to collect his tackle, then drove on to Barston for the draw!

Having reach the semi-finals in previous years Michael was desperate to try and make the final, so he decided he would devote even more time and effort practising each round to give him the very best chance of progressing.

Michael would like dedicate this win to his father, Henri.
