Phil Smith enjoyed some very productive Crucian Carp fishing recently – with this 3lb 12oz specimen being the best of a 13 fish haul.

Phil was using a Series 7 Specialist Avon Quiver 12ft 1.25lb rod and 5000 Shimano Baitrunner to fish a small 30g method feeder with a method mix of Dynamite Green Lipped Mussel method mix with a few extra bits added. The hookbait is varied with Sweetcorn, 6mm soft pellet and artificial casters all proving successful.

During the hours of darkness, the big Mirror Carp below took a liking to Phil’s presentation and put up a right scrap before smashing Phil’s landing net! This fish weighed 23lb 6oz and was a nice bonus!
