Devoted West Sussex specimen angler Simon Buckman with a cracking photograph of a 2lb 4oz specimen river roach, which helped win him a weekly Drennan Cup award in Angling Times recently.

After a spectacular 2011-12 river season, Simon has continued where he left off this year, with more breathtaking Roach, Barbel & Carp which completely justify the huge amount of time and effort he puts in on an undisclosed southern river. A simple feeder set up on Supplex mainline and a Sweetcorn hookbait has been enough to outwit the odd big Roach.

In addition, Simon has bagged one of the biggest Barbel of the season to date with this exquisitely photographed 17lb 4oz stunner! Successful tackle included a pair of hair-rigged 15mm Dynamite Source boilies on an inline set up to a size 4 hook, the fish being landed with a Drennan Martin Bowler Specialist Barbel 12ft 1.75lb rod.
