Another fantastic, atmospheric Suffolk big-Chub picture from Christian Barker, caught with his new Matchpro Medium Feeder 12ft rod!

Christian was pleased to report Santa brought him the new rod for Christmas, and with his local river just within its banks on New Year’s Eve, he could not wait to get out fishing with it! This 5lb 5oz fish was the ideal way to christen it – falling for a lump of cheesepaste further flavoured with LaGuna Banana SAC juice.

In total Christian recorded an excellent 67 Suffolk chub over 4lb in 2012, on baits as varied as bread, locusts, morio worms, snails, black crickets, luncheon meat, bread and banana cheese paste! Twelve of these chub were over the 5lb mark…..and with luck, he hopes to bag a hard won ‘six’ to beat his previous personal best 6lb 4oz.
