Experienced all-round specimen angler Stuart Court has sent us some lovely photos from a recent trip to the River Wye in Herefordshire – including this fabulous action shot showing Stu playing an angry Barbel using a Drennan Martin Bowler Specialist Barbel 12ft 1.75lb rod.  

Stuart travelled down with a couple of mates and had a very enjoyable time on the river, with plenty of Chub and a few decent Barbel caught.

Below is a nice close up of the successful rig – showing the Large (50g) Drennan Heavyweight Cage Feeder filled with an ‘appetizing’ sandwich of Groundbait / Pellets / Groundbait – a 2 foot ESP Two-Tone hooklength through to a size 8 Kamasan Barbel Maxx hook baited with 1½ CC Moore’s Meteor barrel shaped boilies.  Stu’s pellets are a mixture of different sizes and types from 2mm up to 8mm and the groundbait a 50/50 combination of method mix and Salmon fry fishmeal, dampened down with CSL liquid.
