Drennan’s South East Sales Agent Mike Davidson, who hails from Sussex, caught another handsome Thames Perch recently in the shape of this vividly marked 4lb 3oz example.  Mike fished from his own boat (which he takes with him on top of his car) and used his trusty Series 7 Specialist Avon Quiver 12ft 1.25lb to cast a fresh dace bait on 5lb Supplex, mounted on a size 6 Drennan Super Specialist hook, underneath a 6 gram Piker Float balanced with an in-line OIivette.

The Perch was Mike’s only Stripy of the day and came on his last Thames trip of the season – very pleasing as Mike reports even he had found the perch fishing tough recently with the big ones hard to locate.  In Mike’s own words “tough day but well worth the effort!”
