With the river season in full swing, it’s the perfect time to dust off your Stick Floats and start trotting one down your local river!
Is there a better sound than the swoosh of a Stick Float as you strike into another plump roach, dace or chub? River legend Wayne Swinscoe (pictured in action on the River Trent) is a master of the art of stick float fishing and a big fan of our plastic-stemmed models in particular.
Traditional sticks were originally weighted with a heavy cane or lignum stem, but the materials we use are much more reliable and consistent. Our slim, balsa-bodied designs have an accurately weighted stem for perfect on-the-drop and with-the-flow presentation every time.
Stick Floats are designed to be attached ‘top and bottom’ with silicone float rubbers and primarily used for close-range river work with a rod and line. Four sizes of Stick Float are available from 5 No6 (0.5g) up to 8 No4 (1.5g). We also produce Big Sticks for fishing further out or deeper water and Alloy Sticks for turbulent swims.
