Only a day after catching a remarkable brace of 7lb 5oz chub from the River Lea, James Champkin returned in great form to top the brace with this leviathan of 7lb 10oz!

The fish sets a new personal best for the Angling Trust ambassador, who used a simple boilie and PVA bag rig with a 1/3oz lead to snare his quarry. This was delivered with a quiver tip approach, holding the rod enabled James to react quickly to extremely cagey bites.
