South Wales specimen hunter and writer Terry ‘Theo’ Theobald has been back on the banks of the River Test in search of a 2lb grayling.

With the conditions turning cold and with water clarity improving, Theo turned his attention to these majestic river species with great success. “I had a cracking session with well over 50 grayling to 1lb 9oz, along with at least 25 trout, several being 4lb to 5lb.”

All the fish were caught on Theo’s favourite trotting setup: a 14ft MatchPro Ultralight rod, 4.4lb Drennan Float Fish line, 6.4g Loafer and a size 18 Super Spade Hook-To-Nylon.
